Winter track races were essential to Merckx success in the Spring Classics. He won countless six-days races in partnership with another great Belgian, Patrick Sercu. In 1977 they raced together at the European Track Championships held in Copenhagen and dominated the race from the first to the last lap. Another great accomplishment for an almost retired Eddy Merckx (he will actually retire the following year) wearing his fourth great team jersey. This is the time of the classic FIAT blue with white stripe. The Copenhagen 1977 Polo celebrates what is not necessarily his greatest victory but certainly one which explain how strong Merck was in all cycling disciplines. Individually knitted from 100% cotton, the Copenhagen 1977 polo features a slim fit, three back pockets with mother of pearl buttons and Cornely vintage embroidery. 100% made in Italy with Italian materials.
